Men Place Third in NEWMAC Presidents Cup Competition

WESTWOOD, Mass.—After capturing a pair of regular season titles, Babson College finished third when the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) released its final men's Presidents Cup standings on Tuesday afternoon.

The Presidents Cup is an all-sports award presented to the top overall men's and women's programs in the conference and is determined using a weighted points system based on the order of finish during both the regular season and championship play.

The Beavers recorded a top-three finish for the sixth time in seven years of the competition, posting an average of 8.00 points in eight sports. MIT won its fourth straight Presidents Cup with an average of 9.74 points, while WPI came in second with 8.77 points.

Baseball captured a share of its third consecutive NEWMAC regular season title and was one of three programs to advance to the its respective conference tournament final along with soccer and tennis, which advanced to its seventh straight title match. Soccer also claimed its second regular season crown in three seasons, while the swimming & diving program recorded its best finish at the league meet since 2012.
