Babson Holds Centennial Golf Tournament at Wellesley CC

BABSON PARK, Mass.—The Babson College Advancement and Events Management Offices in conjunction with the Department of Athletics and Recreation hosted the Centennial Golf Tournament on Monday afternoon at the Wellesley Country Club.

The event, which was presented by Baguette Atelier, featured more than 110 golfers and 20 corporate sponsors. The tournament, which returned to Wellesley CC for the first time since 2015, has been run by Babson Athletics as the President's Cup dating back to 1982.

The foursome of Joe Campanelli '79, Bill Darcey MBA '89, Sal Rinaldi and Carl Valeri posted a 2-under 69 to finish in first place. William Lemos, Jim Mogauro, Andy Britton and Steve Gusmini recorded a 16-under total of 55 to record the low net score of the day.

Bob Varvara and Sue Pouliot won the men's and women's longest drive competitions, respectively, while Raj Bhangoo and Brenda Boehm were the winners of the closest to the pin contests on the 12th hole.

"The Centennial Golf Tournament was a tremendous success," commented Pamela P. and Brian M. Barefoot Senior Director of Athletics and Athletics Advancement Mike Lynch. "We had a beautiful day for golf, and through our partnership with advancement, we were successful in raising money to ensure that we continue to provide a first-class experience for our student-athletes."
