BABSON PARK, Mass. - Postseason information for all of Babson's winter teams has been announced. The men's basketball team drew an opening round home game and, as the second seed, will host #7 Coast Guard in the NEWMAC Quarterfinals on Wednesday, February 21, at 7 p.m. Cost of admission for that contest will be $5 for adults and $1 for senior citizens, with a portion of the proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity. All Babson undergraduate students with ID will be admitted free courtesy of the Athletics Department. The winner of that contest will advance to Saturday's semifinal round at WPI.
Also on Wednesday, the sixth-seeded women's hoop squad will travel to #3 Springfield for a 5:30 quarterfinal round matchup. Ticket prices for that event will be $5 for adults and $1 for students with IDs. The winner of the game will move on to Saturday's semifinal round at the site of the highest remaining seed.
The men's ice hockey team is also seeded sixth and will head to #3 Skidmore for an ECAC East Quarterfinal contest on Saturday at 5 p.m. Cost of admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students with IDs. The winner of that contest will advance to the following Saturday's semifinal round at the site of the highest remaining seed.
The men's swimming and diving team will also compete this weekend, as Babson heads to Wheaton College for the 2007 NEWMAC Championships on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The time trials for all three days will begin at 11 a.m. with the finals following at 6 p.m.
In addition to Babson's team events, sophomore John Roche will be representing the Beavers' alpine ski team at the ECSC Regional Championships at Waterville Valley on Saturday and Sunday. Roche can earn a trip to the USCSA National Championships if he finishes first among skiers whose teams do not advance.
