BABSON PARK, Mass. - The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently announced its 2008 Division III All-Academic Track and Field Teams, and both the men's and women's programs from Babson College were selected.
A total of 57 men's programs received all-academic status, which required a minimum 3.00 grade point average. The 17 members of the Babson men's team combined to achieve a 3.06 overall GPA. It marked the second straight year in which the men's squad earned all-academic recognition. For the women, a total of 93 schools were honored, with Babson achieving a 3.160 overall GPA between its 12 members.
"I am so proud of this group," says head coach Russ Brennen. "They have done a great job all year balancing practices and meets with Babson's demanding academic schedule. We have enjoyed one of our best seasons on the track this year, and it's great to see that the team's hard work and dedication has paid off not only athletically but academically as well."
