Babson Basketball To Host Pink Zone Event For Cancer Reasearch
BABSON PARK, Mass. -- The Babson College basketball teams will both celebrate the WBCA's second annual "Pink Zone" initiative this Saturday, when the Beavers host back-to-back NEWMAC contests at Staake Gymnasium. The women will take on Mount Holyoke at 1 p.m., with the men facing WPI at 3 p.m. Both contests will also feature special ceremonies honoring Babson's seniors prior to tipoff.
As part of this year's Pink Zone event, Babson will sell special edition pink "Beaver Nation" t-shirts while also raffling off several prizes throughout the day. Both initiatives, as well as any additional donations received, will benefit the Kay Yow Foundation for Cancer Research.
This year's event will be particularly poignant with the recent passing of Yow. The legendary N.C. State head coach died less than a month ago after a long and heroic battle with cancer that served as an inspiration to millions across the world.
