BABSON PARK, Mass. -- The Babson College men's and women's basketball teams have announced that they will be taking donations at this weekend's double-header to help relief efforts in earthquake-stricken Haiti. The women's team will kick off the day with a 1 p.m. matchup against Springfield, with the men's team following with a game against Clark at 3 p.m.
As part of this event, which is one of many campus-wide relief efforts spearheaded by the Bernon Center, Babson will be collecting donations of clothing, medical supplies, and cash to be given to GHESKIO to purchase medicine and other much-needed supplies in Haiti.
All donations will be given directly to three Babson constituents - a local nurse, doctor, and priest - who will be traveling to Haiti over the next few weeks. These volunteers represent various organizations aiding in relief efforts, including GHESKIO and the Saint Angela Church in Mattapan.
Donations will be taken at the main entrance to Staake Gymnasium throughout both contests. Thank you in advance for your support.
