Men Finish Third In NEWMAC Presidents Cup Standings

BOSTON—Following three second-place regular season finishes and strong performances throughout the year, the Babson College men finished third in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Presidents Cup standings.

The Presidents Cup is an all-sports award presented to the top overall men’s and women’s programs in the conference and is determined using a weighted points system based on the order of finish during both the regular season and championship play.

The Green and White, which averaged 8.32 points per sport, came in just behind second-place WPI and first-place MIT, which claimed the Presidents Cup for the second consecutive year.

The men’s lacrosse and men’s tennis squads both finished second in the regular season standings and reached the conference finals for the second time in as many years, while the men’s basketball team also came in second, matching its best NEWMAC finish since 2007. Additionally, both the baseball and soccer teams reached the league semifinals and cross country came in fourth for the second time in three years.
