Men Finish Third In NEWMAC Presidents Cup Standings

BOSTON—After claiming three regular-season league titles and a pair of conference tournament championships, the Babson College men finished third for the second straight year in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Presidents Cup standings, which were released on Wednesday.

The Presidents Cup is an all-sports award presented to the top overall men's and women's programs in the conference and is determined using a weighted points system based on the order of finish during both the regular season and championship play.

The Green and White, which averaged 8.34 points per sport, came in just behind second-place MIT and first-place WPI, which claimed the Presidents Cup for the first time.

The Beavers' men's basketball squad won both the regular season and league tournament titles en route to its first NCAA Final Four appearance in program history this past winter. The men's soccer team claimed its first conference tournament championship since 2010, while the men's lacrosse and tennis squads each claimed their first NEWMAC regular-season titles in the spring.
