Conor Kortmann enters his third season as an assistant baseball coach at Babson College in 2016 after being hired in July 2014 following a sixth-month stint working with the Boston Red Sox. 

Kortmann, who served as team captain as a senior, started 108 of 116 games while posting a .314 career batting average with 27 extra-base hits, 61 runs scored and 67 runs batted in for the Green and White.  He joined the Boston Red Sox organization in March as a video operations and player development intern, working with its Eastern League Double-A affiliate. During his time in Portland, which finished 85-52 and reached the playoffs for the first time since 2008, Kortmann worked with coaches, players and front office staff with a focus on video and advanced statistics. 

Prior to joining the Red Sox organization, Kortmann worked as an intern with the NY/NJ Comets of the National Pro Fastpitch softball league and with the Philadelphia Phillies' Single-A affiliate, the Lakewood BlueClaws of the South Atlantic League.

Kortmann also serves as an assistant in the equipment room.
