Skating School Classes

The Babson Skating School offers
excellent Figure Skating and Hockey development programs for
beginner through advanced levels. We hold Tot, Learn to Skate,
Adult classes, Hockey-Skills, and Bridge classes. Our school
encourages participation from the young to the young at
heart. We have a highly qualified professional coaching
staff. Our coaches are members of the following
organizations: Professional Skaters Association, US Figure
Skating,
Ice Skating Institute, and USA Hockey.

The Babson Skating School makes skill development fun for
all ages and levels! Anyone aspiring to learn how to skate or
become and elite skater needs to begin with basics. Our classes
provide the necessary fundamentals to continue into figure skating
or hockey programs.
Tot: Application
Tot classes are for skaters 3 - 5 years of
age. Class is 30min of instruction with NO practice.
Adult Class: Application
Based off of the Learn to Skate
Cirriculum
Learn to Skate,Learn to Skate+: Application
Learn to Skate classes are for skaters 5 years of age
and older. They are a 40min class followed by 10min of
practice time.
Learn to Skate+ classes: This class is
for skaters 5 and older who have passed the Alpha skating level.
They will learn manuevers from the next level of skating but will
also be introduced to beginner school figures, ice dancing and
moves in the field. It is a 40min class with a 10min practice.
Hockey Skating Skills: Application
The Babson Skating School's hockey skating skill class allows
future players the opportunity to develop their
skating. Skater's may start at 3 years of age and must be able
to stay on the ice in class for 40-50min of instruction. Skaters
will start in our Hockey Skating Skills class where the focus is on
Skating with little stick use. Once a skater has
completed Hockey Skating 1-5 they may move into our advance hockey
class. Here they will continue skating skills and will incorporate
stick handling with an occasional use of pucks. Hockey Skates,
Helmets, Stick, Shin Guards are required.
Ice Dance, Advance Freestyle (Bridge) and Synchronized
Skating: Application
The Babson Skating School's Bridge class allows figure skaters the
opportunity to develop skills to their fullest potential. Skaters
who have passed the Delta Level may advance to the Bridge classes.
Skaters will learn more advanced maneuvers, including jumps, spins
and will also learn a program to music, which they may in turn use
for competitions if they desire. Moves in the Field and Figures
will also join the repertoire. Classes are 40 or 50min depending on
the day with NO practice.
**New** ICE DANCE CLASS- Skaters who have passed the Alpha level may join this class. Ice dance helps skaters with their body placement, posture, edges, flow and power needed for skating. Classes are 40 or 50min depending on the day with NO Practice.

Discounts:
*Register the same skater for 2 classes in the same session and get
50% off of the second class.
*Babson Employee's/Students recieve a 25% class discount on first
class of each session only
*Olin Employee's/Students receive a 20% class discount on first
class of each session only
Specials:
1 Free Group class to first time skater's to the Babson
Skating Center. Please print off the application and mail it in
by: _________________ for Tot Program or ________________ for
LTS and Hockey Program. Applcations received after these dates may
not get into the class you are looking for as these next few
sessions fill up quickley. Special Class Application

Spring: February 16, 2009
All applications received after the deadline will be
charged a $20.00 late fee. Registrations may be mailed in,
Faxed or dropped off to the arena in person. Please fill in
all areas of the application.
