Men's Skiing Seventh At Nationals After Giant Slalom

WINTER PARK, Colo. -- Following Thurdsay's giant slalom portion of the 2009 United States Collegiate Ski Association (USCSA) National Championships, the Babson College men's alpine ski team stood in seventh place out of 18 squads. The Beavers will look to match or eclipse their best finish ever (6th) at the event when they compete in the slalom on Saturday beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET.

Senior co-captain John Roche (Hingham, Mass.) once again paced Babson on Thurdsay, finishing 25th overall with a two-run total time of 2:04.28. He was followed closely by sophomore teammate Keith Vella (Sussex, N.J.), who placed 26th in 2:04.57, and senior co-captain Kevin Fusick (North Granby, Conn.), who rounded out the Beavers' scoring three in 42nd place with a combined time of 2:09.03. Junior Chris Jacobs (Rochester, N.Y.) also skiied well in the GS, placing 46th overall with a total time of 2:10.74.
