Men's Skiing Takes Fourth, Women Sixth At Smith Carnival Giant Slalom


RESULTS

LACONIA, N.H. -- The Babson College ski teams had another strong showing at the Smith Carnival at Gunstock on Friday, as the women's team placed sixth in the giant slalom while the men finished fourth. As a result, the women moved up to eighth place in the MacConnell Division, while the men remain in firm possession of fourth overall in the league.

Junior Max Winthrop paced the men's team with his fourth consecutive top-10 finish, as he placed ninth overall on Friday. Classmate Keith Vella also continued to ski well, finishing 15th for his fourth straight top-20 performance. Other strong efforts included senior captain Connor Lemenze in 24th place, senior captain Chris Jacobs in 28th, and first-year Scott Kern in 38th.

Junior captain Alexis Burton led the Babson women with a 22nd-place showing, followed by fellow junior captain Alyssa Sullivan in 27th and first-year Franny Robertson in 35th.

Both teams return to action with the St. Anselm Carnival slalom race tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m.
