Russ Brennen is currently in his sixth season as head coach of Babson's cross-country and track and field teams. A 1992 graduate of RIT, Brennen has not only led both programs to success on the field and track, but also in the classroom. With Brennan at the helm, Babson's cross-country squads have garnered five team and two individual national All-Academic awards, while the track and field teams have earned five team and six individual All-Academic honors.

After receiving his Master's degree from Syracuse University in 2001, Brennen spent the next three seasons as the assistant cross-country and track and field coach at Babson. During that time, he also served as a senior designer in the Office of Publications. He then took over the program as head coach in 2004.

In addition to collegiate coaching, Brennen has enjoyed great success working for TRACS, Inc., a well-established athletic consulting company, for the past 12 years. He has been involved with a wide variety of projects, including club-level coaching with the Cambridge Running Club and the Boston Running Club, a national powerhouse in cross-country and track. He has also worked on national and international projects like the John Hancock Elite Village for the Boston Marathon, the U.S. National Masters Track and Field Championships, and FILA's Discovery Kenya project.

Brennen ran competitively at both the high school and college levels, participating in indoor track, outdoor track, and cross-country at RIT. He has also competed in a total of seven marathons, including three in Boston.
