THE SERIES
Babson and Illinois Wesleyan will meet for the first time on Friday afternoon.

SCOUTING THE TITANS
Illinois Wesleyan (6-3) has split its last four games after suffering a 4-3 14-inning loss to 17th-ranked Ramapo on Tuesday afternoon. Nick Figus, Jake Stewart, Tim Smyk and Gino Cavalieri all had two hits for the Titans, who stranded 12 runners on base in the loss. John Bosco is batting .405 with two doubles, Smyk is hitting .375 with three doubles, two home runs and eight RBI, and Figus enters the day with a .368 average to go along with four extra-base hits and a team-high 10 runs scored. Six different pitchers have earned a victory so far this spring for Illinois Wesleyan, which owns a 4.96 team ERA.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
Babson (2-2) enters the first of seven games in Florida coming off a 5-0 win over Mass. Maritime on March 9. Juniors Adam Ayala and David Lennon both doubled and drove in two runs apiece, while classmate Teddy Carey allowed just one hit over seven innings for the Beavers, who got hits from eight different players in the victory. Sophomore Brian McHale is 5-for-7 with a double and three RBI in two starts, senior Jack Halpin is batting .278 with five runs batted in and Ayala is hitting .273 with a double, three stolen bases and two RBI. Carey is 2-0 with 14 strikeouts in 13.0 innings over two starts for the Green and White, which boasts a 3.06 team ERA.

PROVIDING THE POWER
Halpin, junior Mark Webber and sophomore Connor Gill combined to produce 16 extra-base hits while driving in 19 runs for the Beavers in nine games in Florida last season.

REPEAT HONORS
Carey, who has not allowed an earned run this season, collected his second consecutive NEWMAC Pitcher of the Week award on Monday. He allowed just an infield single against Mass. Maritime and is now 5-1 with a miniscule 0.51 ERA in 35.0 innings over his last six appearances.

FINDING THE GAPS
The Beavers have recorded at least one extra-base hit in 17 of the 19 games going back to April 16 of last season, which includes eight doubles and four home runs in four outings this spring.

KEEPING IT IN THE YARD
The Babson pitching staff has not allowed a home run in six consecutive games going back to last season's NEWMAC Tournament.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
The Beavers are 10-9-1 in Florida over the last two seasons.
