AUBURNDALE, Fla.—Junior Ryan Arena (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) and sophomore Eric Jaun (Loveland, Ohio) both homered and senior Jake Weiss (Irvine, Calif.) drove in a pair of runs to help Babson College defeat Worcester State University, 8-2, in non-conference baseball action on Sunday afternoon.

With the win, Babson is now 4-4 on the year, while Worcester State falls to 1-4.

Junior Adam Ayala (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) went 2-for-3 with a triple, two stolen bases and three runs scored for Beavers in support of sophomore Connor Gill (Sterling, Mass.), who allowed just one earned run while striking out five over 5.1 innings to earn his first win of the year. Senior Ken Rotunno (East Islip, N.Y.) and sophomore Max Tannenbaum (Coral Springs, Fla.) closed out the win with 3.2 innings of scoreless relief.

Ayala reached on an error and scored in the bottom of the first and Arena led off the second with a solo blast to give the Green and White a 2-0 lead. The Lancers answered back with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth, but the Beavers scored four times with two outs in the bottom of the frame to seize control of the game.

Weiss plated Ayala and junior David Lennon (Windermere, Fla.) with a single to left center, and then raced home on a double steal to make it 5-2. Senior Jack Halpin (Glastonbury, Conn.) scored on an error one batter later, while Jaun led off the sixth with a home run to left to extend the lead to 7-2.

Ayala tripled to being the bottom of the seventh and later came around to score for the final margin.

Babson returns to action on Monday when it takes on Clarkson at 11 a.m. at Lake Myrtle Park Field #1 in Auburndale, Vt.
