WESTWOOD, Mass.—Babson College senior Eric Jaun (Loveland, Ohio) was tabbed as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Jaun batted .385 (5-for-13) with a double, a triple, a home run, seven RBI and five runs scored in three wins for No. 10/10 Babson. He contributed an RBI in Tuesday's 10-9 10-inning win over Springfield, and followed it up with a double, a homer and three RBI in a 3-for-4 day as the Beavers rallied from a four-run deficit to edge No. 3/4 Southern Maine, 9-8, on Thursday. In his final game of the week, Jaun tripled, walked, drove in two runs and scored three times as Babson handed Emerson an 11-1 loss on Friday.
Jaun is in the midst of the best season of his career for the Beavers batting .308 with 11 doubles, three triples and a homer to go along with a career-high 31 RBI in 29 starts. His 41 career doubles are tied for second in school history and his 168 hits have him tied for 10th entering the week.
Babson (25-4, 12-2 NEWMAC) return to action on Wednesday when it hosts UMass Dartmouth at 3:30 p.m.
