Senior Southpaw Becomes Just the Beavers' Third All-America Selection in Program History

BABSON PARK, Mass.—Babson College senior Michael Genaro (Greenwich, Conn.) continued to add to his postseason awards haul when he was named to the All-America third team on Tuesday afternoon.

The Beavers' all-time leader in wins, Genaro has made a school-record 12 starts this spring going 8-3 with a career-best 1.65 earned run average over a single-season record 87.1 innings. He has recorded a career-high 66 strikeouts against just six walks, and ranks second in Division III in walks per nine innings (0.62), fourth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (11.00), seventh in WHIP (0.86) and 17th in ERA.

Genaro, who won a single-season record nine games last spring, owns a 26-8 career mark, and also is Babson's all-time leader in innings pitched (267.2). His 185 strikeouts rank second all-time in school history and his 2.56 career ERA is sixth entering the College World Series. Additionally, Genaro has tossed seven complete games and has gone 3-1 in four career NCAA Tournament starts.

No. 7/9 Babson (38-8) swept Cortland in a best-of-three NCAA Super Regional series last weekend and will face No. 22/21 Johns Hopkins in its opening game of the College World Series on Friday at 5:30 p.m. ET in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
