Tahmoush, Delaney Chosen To Play In NEIBA Senior All-Star Game At Fenway Park
June 3, 2008
BABSON PARK, Mass. - The New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) has announced the participants for its 2008 Senior All-Star Game at Fenway Park, and Babson College seniors Steve Tahmoush (Arlington, Mass.) and senior Matt Delaney (Newton, Mass.) were both selected. The duo will join fellow Division II and III all-stars to take on the region's Division I all-stars on Saturday, June 14, at noon.
Tahmoush recentley received NEWMAC All-Conference First Team and NEIBA All-New England Second Team honors for the second straight year after a brilliant spring in which he hit .373 with team-highs of 62 hits, three triples, five homers, 47 runs, and a program-record 21 stolen bases. He also recorded six doubles and 30 RBIs while posting a .986 fielding percentage in Babson's notoriously difficult right field. In addition to setting the single-season record, Tahmoush graduated as Babson's all-time leader with 55 career stolen bases.
Delaney also turned in a spectacular senior campaign, batting .377 with 60 hits, 16 doubles, one triple, four homers, 36 runs scored, and 37 RBIs in 40 games. With four hits in the team's season-ending doubleheader against Tufts, he became Babson's new all-time leader with 199 hits in his career. Like Tahmoush, he was also named First Team All-NEWMAC and Second Team All-New England.
