Flannery Collects NEWMAC Player of the Week Honors

BOSTON—Babson College senior Joey Flannery (Acton, Mass.) was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Player of the Week for the fifth time this season on Monday.

Flannery averaged 23.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 blocked shots as top-ranked Babson posted a pair of double-digit conference victories. He matched his career high with seven three-pointers and recorded his third straight double-double with 36 points and 10 boards in Wednesday's 95-77 victory over Springfield. Flannery then dished out seven first-half assists to go along with 11 points and seven rebounds as the Beavers clinched a share of their third consecutive regular season league title by defeating Clark, 77-50, on Saturday.

Flannery is averaging 21.8 points, 6.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists, and passed Tim Vincent '73 to become the program's all-time leader with his 776th career field goal on Saturday. He currently ranks second on Division III's active list in scoring with 2,349 points and is both Babson's all-time leader and the active Division III leader with 615 made free throws.

The Beavers (22-1, 12-0 NEWMAC) host Coast Guard on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and MIT on Saturday at 3 p.m. to close out the regular season.
