Flannery Works Out for LA Clippers

BABSON PARK, Mass.—After closing his career as one of the top players in Division III history with a national championship back in March, Babson College standout Joey Flannery '17 took part in an NBA pre-draft workout with the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday.

Flannery went against five Division I seniors in the workout, a group that included Sterling Brown of SMU, Derrick Walton of Michigan and Isaiah Hicks of Division I national champion North Carolina. The group was put through testing in the morning before competing in drills and live action in the afternoon.

Flannery signed with Duran International Sports Management in May and is represented by Duncan M. Lloyd. The firm also lists former Division III stars John DiBartolomeo (Rochester), Will Hanley (Bowdoin) and Lucas Hausman (Bowdoin), all of which are currently playing professionally in Europe, as clients.

A two-time National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III Player of the Year selection, Flannery ranks eighth all-time in scoring with 2,620 points. He made 119 career starts and averaged 22.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 47.8 percent from the floor.
