BABSON PARK, Mass.—Babson College men's basketball senior Nick Comenale (New York Mills, N.Y.) was an honorable mention selection when D3hoops.com released its preseason All-America teams on Friday afternoon.
Comenale averaged career highs of 16.0 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists while shooting 48 percent from the floor and 43.8 percent from three-point range to help the Beavers win the program's first Division III national championship last winter. He finished second on the team in scoring and reached double figures in 29 of 33 games on the way to earning first-team All-New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and fourth-team all-region honors.
Comenale knocked down a single-season school record 110 three-point field goals during the 2016-17 campaign, and enters his senior year ranked sixth on the Beavers' all-time list with 165 career triples. His 529 points last winter were also good for 11th on the single-season chart.
The defending national champions open the 2017-18 season on Wednesday night against Lasell at 7:30 p.m. inside Stake Gymnasium.
