Men's Hoops Set to Take Part in Upcoming Coaches vs. Cancer Events

BABSON PARK, Mass.—Babson College head men's basketball coach Stephen Brennan announced that his team will participate in a pair of Coaches vs. Cancer events in conjunction with the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) over the coming weeks.

Brennan and his coaching staff will take part in the 15th annual Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers Week when the Beavers host Emerson College on Wednesday at 7 p.m. inside Staake Gymnasium, and at the Coast Guard Academy on Saturday. More than 4,000 coaches will participate in the week-long event, which raises awareness and helps saves lives from cancer by raising funds and encouraging people to educate themselves about cancer prevention, screening and early detection.

In addition to taking part in Suits and Sneakers Week, Babson has teamed up with Coaches vs. Cancer and fundraising vendor PLEDGE IT to join the 3-Point Challenge during the month of February for the second year in a row. Teams from across the country, including rivals Amherst and WPI, will square off to see who can make the most three-pointers and raise the most money in the fight against cancer. Fans can support the Green and White by pledging a donation for every three-pointer made during the month of February, beginning with the Beavers' game against Clark on February 3.

To make a pledge in support of Babson, please visit the team's PLEDGE IT team page or check out the 3-Point Challenge home page to learn more about the program and track the Beavers progress.
