Senior Guard Scored Career-High 35 Points on 13-of-13 Shooting in Saturday's Win at WPI
BABSON PARK, Mass.—Babson College senior Jack Coolahan (Newtown, Pa.) put together one of the top individual performances of the Division III season on Saturday and was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for his efforts late Monday night.
Joining him on the national team of the week were senior Max Hisatake of Illinois Tech, junior Chris LaBelle of Centenary (N.J.) and sophomores Anthony Jones of Fontbonne (Mo.) and Austin Grunder of SUNY Cortland.
Coolahan knocked down five three-pointers and finished a perfect 13-of-13 from the floor and 4-of-4 at the free throw line on the way to scoring a career-high 35 points in a 93-81 win over then-23rd-ranked WPI. His 13 made field goals are the most this season without a miss by a Division III player, surpassing the 10-of-10 effort by senior Lucas Watford of fourth-ranked Saint John's (Minn.) back in December.
Coolahan, who also scored 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting in an 84-81 loss to then-25th-ranked Springfield last Wednesday, averaged 24.0 points on 82.6 percent shooting (19-of-23) over two games for the Beavers.
Babson's leading scorer at 16.7 points per game, Coolahan is also averaging 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals while shooting 56.4 percent from the floor and 44.2 percent from beyond the arc through 13 games.
The 17th-ranked Beavers (11-2, 1-1 NEWMAC) is set to host Coast Guard on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
