Eger Named NECC Golfer Of The Week

BABSON PARK, Mass. -- After guiding his team to its first-ever New England Collegitate Conference (NECC) Championship, Babson College junior captain Bryan Eger (Marion, Mass.) has been named the conference Golfer of the Week.
Eger led wire to wire in Babson's inaugural NECC Championship event, firing rounds of 70 and 79 to finish first overall with a total score of 149 - one stroke ahead of sophomore teammate Carmilo Perlaza (Cali, Colombia). As a result, Eger was named the NECC Golfer of the Year, and was named to the All-Conference First Team.
Playing its first season an associate member of the NECC, Babson has now had four conference Golfers of the Week through the first five weeks of the year. Senior captain Fernando Pineres (Cartagena, Colombia) earned the honor twice, while Eger and Perlaza were each selected once.
The Beavers will close out the fall portion of their 2009-10 campaign on October 19-20, when they compete at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships.
