Golf In 11th Place Midway Through NEIGA Championships

BREWSTER, Mass. -- The Babson College golf team carded a team score of 312 to stand in 11th place out of 39 schools at the 75th Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships at the Captains Golf Course on Monday. Dartmouth sat atop the standings with a team score of 291 over the opening 18 holes.

Babson was led by senior captain Fernando Pineres, who shot an opening round 75 to rank 18th overall. Close behind were the Beavers' remaining four players, who all finished within three strokes of one another. Junior captain Bryan Eger ranked 44th with a 78, sophomore Camilo Perlaza carded a 79 to place 56th, sophomore Joe Young stood in 71st with an 80, and junior Matt Foley shot 81 to rank 85th.

The competition will conclude with 18 more holes on Tuesday.
