SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- The Babson College golf team finished in a tie for eighth place out of 12 teams at the Western New England College Invitational at the Veterans Memorial Golf Course on Thursday. The Beavers' team score of 331 tied them with Springfield College, 24 shots off the winning pace set by host WNEC.
Senior captain Bryan Eger posted Babson's low round of the tournament, carding a 76 to finish in a four-way tie for third place. UMass-Dartmouth's Matt Connolly won the event with a round of 73, followed by WNEC's Patrick Donahue in second place with a 74.
Rounding out the Beavers' lineup were junior captain Joe Young and senior Eric Tidman, who tied for 30th with matching scores of 83, and seniors Matt Foley and Matt Doherty, who finished 51st and 57th, respectively.
Babson's final tournament of the year will take place this Sunday and Monday, April 17 and 18, at the Johnson & Wales Wildcat Invitational.
