MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- The Babson College golf team finished in a tie for 11th place at the 2011 Duke Nelson Invitational hosted by Middlebury College over the weekend. A total of 24 school competed at the event.
Anchoring the Beavers' lineup was once again senior captain Joe Young (Westwood, Mass.), who followed up Saturday's spectacular opening round of 71 with another stellar score of 75 to finish in a tie for third place overall. Young's two-round total of 146 was just four shots off the winning pace of 142 posted by medalist Anthony Dilisio of first-place Skidmore.
Junior Wesley Tryhane (Stamford, Conn.) cut five strokes off his opening round by carding a 79 on Sunday to finish 72nd overall with a two-round total of 163. He was followed closely by sophomore Daine Biluk (Calgary, Alberta) in 77th with a combined score of 164, junior Paul Caso (Amherst, N.H.) in 82nd with a 165, and sophomore Will Weimar (Nesconset, N.Y.) in 91st with a 168.
The Beavers hit the links again this coming weekend, when they head to western Massachusetts for the two-day Williams Invitational.
