BREWSTER, Mass. -- After day one of the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships at the captain's Course on Monday, the Babson College golf team stood in a tie for 24th place out of 34 Division I, II, and III schools. The Beavers' opening-round score of 326 matched that of Suffolk University and was 25 strokes off the leading pace set by Bryant and Holy Cross.
Junior Wesley Tryhane followed up his runner-up performance at the NECC Championships with another stellar opening round, as he carded a 3-over 75 to stand in a three-way tie for eighth place overall. However, no other Beaver placed in the top 80, as sophomore Daine Biluk recorded the squad's next-best finish in 82nd place with a round of 81. Senior captain Joe Young ranked 108th after day one with a round of 83, while first-year Andrew King's 18-hole score of 87 placed him 139th overall.
The event concludes with the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
