Golf Finishes 10th at RIC Invitational

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Babson College men's golf team opened the spring portion of its 2011-12 season with a 10th-place finish at the Rhode Island College Invitational at Trigg Memorial Golf Course on Friday. The event was originally scheduled as a 36-hole competition, but Saturday's final round was cancelled due to rain.

Cold weather created tough conditions throughout Friday's round, as only seven of 65 total players broke 80, including only two with scores of less than 79. Babson's top finish once again came courtesy of senior captain Joe Young, who carded a score of 82 to finish in a tie for 12th place overall. He was followed by Andrew King in 44th place with a round of 92, Paul Caso in 51st with a 96, and Andrew Lepine and Ryan Andrews in a tie for 54th with matching rounds of 98.

The Beavers will next be in action on April 13 and 14, when they travel UMass-Dartmouth to compete in the two-day Hampton Inn Spring Invitational at Allendale Country Club.
