SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- The Babson College golf team finished in a tie for ninth place at the Western New England Invitational at Veterans Golf Course on Thursday. The Beavers' team score of 335 placed them in a tie with one of the host Golden Bears' two squads at the event - three strokes behind eight-place Westfield State.
Leading Babson with a sixth-place finish overall was junior Wesley Tryhane (Stamford, Conn.), who shot a round of 77 - tying him with Matt Connolly of UMass-Dartmouth, Patrick Donahue of WNEU, and Nick Masciadrelli of Nichols. Senior captain Joe Young (Westwood, Mass.) fired an 81 to place 19th, while sophomore Will Weimer (Nesconset, N.Y.) shot 87 to take 42nd. Rounding out the Beavers' lineup were Andy Lepine and junior Paul Caso (Amherst, N.H.), who each placed 44th with matching rounds of 90.
After a brief one-day respite, Babson heads right back into action with the Johnson & Wales Wildcat Spring Invitational this Saturday and Sunday at the Cranston Country Club.
