MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- The Babson College men's golf team posted a composite score of 324 on day two of the Duke Nelson Invitational at Middlebury to vault up two spots in the final standings. The Beavers finished the event in a tie with Manhattanville College for 18th place out of 25 total teams with a two-round total of 654.
First-year Vijay Vasandani (Cebu, Philippines) and senior Paul Caso (Amherst, N.H.) each carded an 80 in Sunday's final round to pace Babson, while first-year Chris Maguire (Waltham, Mass.) was just one stroke behind with a second round of 81. Junior Daine Biluk (Calgary, Alberta) followed with an 83 and senior captain Wesley Tryhane (Stamford, Conn.) added an 85 to close out the tournament for the Green and White.
Coupled with his opening round 80, Vasandani's second round placed him in a tie for 43rd place in the final individual standings with a two-day total of 160. Caso finished 69th overall with a total score of 164, followed by Biluk and Maguire in a tie for 74th with matching scores of 165 and Tryhane in 105th with a total of 173.
Next up for the Beavers will be the Williams Invitational at the Taconic Golf Course next weekend. The opening round will begin on Saturday at 11:30 a.m., with the second round taking place on Sunday at 7:30 a.m.
