WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Babson College golf team secured its best finish of the 2012-13 season on Sunday, placing third overall at the 2012 Williams Invitational at the Taconic Golf Club. The Beavers followed up Saturday's opening round score of 298 with a second round of 304, giving them a two-day score of 602. The event was won by the host Ephs (584) with Middlebury coming in second (599).
Following his sparkling opening-round 73, senior captain Wesley Tryhane struggled a bit with the windy conditions in Sunday's second round, but his score of 82 was still good enough to place him in a tie for eighth place out of 96 total competitors with a two-round total of 155. He was followed closely by first-year Vijay Vasandani, who shot 78 for the second straight day to finish 12th overall with a total of 156.
Like Vasandani, junior Kenny Chong matched his opening-round score on Sunday, firing his second straight 79 to place 23rd overall with a total of 158. First-year Chris Maguire came in 50th after carding an 82 - two strokes better than his opening-round total - for a two-day score of 166, and senior Paul Caso rounded out the lineup with an 87 for a total score 168, placing him 62nd overall.
