Golf Finishes Sixth in Division III, 15th Overall at Rain-Shortened NEIGA Championships

BREWSTER, Mass. -- The Babson College golf team finished the fall portion of the 2012-13 season with a stellar performance at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships at the Captain's Course on Sunday. The Beavers finished 15th overall and sixth among Division III teams at the event, which was shortened to just one round after poor weather conditions from Hurricane Sandy forced the preemptive cancellation of Monday's final round.

Leading Babson at the regional championships was senior captain Wesley Tryhane, who fired a round of 77 to finish in a six-way tie for 12th place in the field of 171 individuals. Placing fifth among Division III players, Tryhane should be in position to claim his second straight All-New England honor when that information is announced by the NEIGA later this fall.

Also playing well for the Beavers were first-year Vijay Vasandani and junior Daine Biluk, who carded matching rounds of 82 to tie for 62nd overall. Senior Paul Caso shot a round of 87 to place 127th, and first-year Chris Maguire rounded out the Beavers' lineup in 138th place with a round of 89.
