BREWSTER, Mass.—Senior Daine Biluk (Calgary, Alberta) and sophomore Vijay Vasandani (Cebu, Philippines) both posted a final round score of 9-over par 81 as the Babson College men's golf team moved up two spots to finish in a tie for 30th at the 79th Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship on Monday at the Captains Course.
The Beavers put together a team score of 329 on day two, eight shots better than Sunday's first round, for a 36-hole total of 666. The Green and White finished tied for 15th-place among Division III teams. Division I Central Connecticut State University finished first with a two-day total of 597, finishing three shots clear of the University of Rhode Island. Bryant University came in third, followed by Western New England University, the top Division III finisher in fourth place, while Husson University came in fifth.
Vasandani was Babson's top finisher, posting a tie for 52nd with rounds of 78 and 81. Biluk's final-round 81 was seven shots better than his opening-round 88. Sophomore Chris Maguire (Waltham, Mass.) carded an 11-over 83 on Monday, while junior Jay Ruvane (Buck Hill Falls, Pa.) was one shot back with a final-round 84.
The NEIGA Championship was the final fall event for Babson, which will return to action in the spring.
