ATTLEBORO, Mass.—Babson College senior Andrew Lepine (Litchfield, N.H.) and junior Vijay Vasandani (Cebu, Philippines) were honored for their work in the classroom as both were named to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference team on Wednesday night.
To be eligible for the NECC Academic All-Conference team, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.40 grade point average and have achieved sophomore status at their respective institution.
Lepine was selected to the league's academic all-conference team for the third consecutive season. He appeared in four tournaments last fall, carding a pair of scores in the 70s and posting an 83.33 stroke average in six competitive rounds for the Beavers.
Vasandani, a three-time all-league honoree, earned his second consecutive NECC Academic All-Conference team nod. Babson's most consistent golfer in the fall, he posted seven rounds in the 70s and shot 81 or better in all nine of his competitive rounds. Vasandani, who finished third at the season-opening Trinity College Invitational and 10th at the conference championship in October, leads the Green and White with a 77.78 stroke average.
Babson, which won the 2014 NECC Championship to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament this May, will open its spring season on April 3 at the Rhode Island College Invitational.
