WARWICK, R.I.—First-years Pranav Mohan (Fremont, Calif.) and Kyle Alexander (Brewer, Maine) both shot seven-over par 79 on Saturday as the Babson College men's golf team moved up three spots and finished 11th overall at the Rhode Island College Invitational at Valley Country Club.
The duo were two of just 10 players to break 80 in the final round for the Beavers, who posted a team score of 333 to finish with a 36-hole total of 657. Williams College (614) finished 19 shots clear of the host Anchormen (633), while Manhattanville College (637) finished third and Endicott College (644) was fourth. Three teams tied for fifth place, just 10 shots ahead of the Green and White.
Mohan tied for 13th place overall with a two-round total of 15-over par 159. Alexander bounced back from an 86 on Friday to tie for 37th position with a 36-hole total of 165, while senior Jay Ruvane (Buck Hill Falls, Pa.) and junior Chris Maguire (Waltham, Mass.) both tied for 55th place with a two-day total of 170 after carding an 87 and 88 on Saturday, respectively.
Babson returns to action next Friday at 10 a.m. in the first round of the UMass-Dartmouth Hampton Inn Invitational at Allendale Country Club.
