Men's Golf at the Johnson & Wales Wildcat Invitational

The Babson College men's golf team will compete for the third consecutive weekend when they tee it up at the Johnson & Wales Wildcat Invitational beginning on Saturday. The Beavers will play 36 holes at the par-71, 6,493 yard layout in preparation for the NCAA Tournament in mid-May.
2014 RHODE ISLAND COLLEGE INVITATIONAL RECAP:
Junior Vijay Vasandani shot 82-79 and tied for 31st overall with a two-day total of 161 as the Beavers finished 11th in a 15-team field on April 18-19, 2014. Classmate Chris Maguire finished at 164 to tie for 37th position, while sophomore Bobby Quirk posted a 36-hole total of 167 to come in tied for 47th place.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS:
Following its fourth-place finish at the UMass-Dartmouth Hampton Inn Invitational last Saturday, Babson struggled at the Western New England Invitational on Thursday afternoon, coming in eighth overall. Vasandani, who leads the team with a 79.33 stroke average, fired an 8-over par 80 to tie for 14th place at Veterans Golf Club on Thursday, but the Beavers were unable to get anyone else in the top 35 while posting its highest score of the season. First-years Kyle Alexander and Pranav Mohan finished tied for 13th and 16th, respectively, last weekend, and are second and third on the team in scoring average.
