NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.—First-year Grant Taleck (Naples, Fla.) finished with an 8-over par round of 80 to help the Babson College men's golf team finish seventh at the UMass Dartmouth Hampton Inn Invitational on Saturday at Allendale Country Club.
The Beavers, who started the day tied for fifth, posted a final-round team score of 326 and a 36-hole total of 655 to finish 13 shots behind first-place Husson. Salem State and Endicott tied for second at 645, while Rhode Island College (647) and Johnson & Wales (649) rounded out the top five.
Taleck recorded the low round of his career for Babson, which failed to have a player break 80 for the first time in 13 competitive rounds this season. Sophomore Kyle Alexander (Brewer, Maine) followed Friday's 78 with an 85 on Saturday and tied for 19th-position with a 36-hole total of 163. Classmate Pranav Mohan (Fremont, Calif.) carded a final round 83 and also tied for 19th place at 163.
Taleck came in tied for 26th with a two-round total of 164, while fellow first-year Benjamin Crawford (Houston, Texas) tied for 40th at 168 after firing a 9-over par 81 on Saturday. Senior Chris Maguire (Waltham, Mass.) finished with a round of 82 and tied for 50th overall with a 36-hole total of 171.
Babson is back in action on Wednesday when it takes part in the Rich Korzec Memorial Invitational hosted by Worcester State at Blackstone National Golf Club.
