GRANBY, Mass.—First-year Lukas Linemayr (Hampton, N.H.) posted a three-shot victory with his 2-over par round of 74 to help the Babson College men's golf team capture the Elms College Invitational on Tuesday at Westover Golf Club.
The Beavers' team total of 323 was one stroke better than second-place Rhode Island College and three shots clear of the host Blazers. Emmanuel (335) and Westfield State (339) rounded out the top. The victory was the first for the Green and White since claiming its second consecutive New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) title back on October 4.
Linemayr made one birdie and three bogeys on the way to recording the low round of his collegiate career. First-year Riley Whitham (Harvard, Mass.) tied for 10th place with a 9-over par round of 81, while classmate Benjamin Crawford (Houston, Texas) shot 83 to finish in a tie for 12th.
Babson will conclude the regular season at the Western New England Invitational on Thursday at Veterans Memorial Golf Course in Springfield.
