Men's Golf Sixth After Day One at Williams

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.—The Babson College men's golf team posted a team score of 310 and sits in sixth place after the opening round of the Williams Invitational at Taconic Golf Club.

Trinity finished the day at 301 and holds a one-shot lead over the host Ephs and is four shots ahead of third-place Amherst. Middlebury is fourth at 307, while Tufts (309) rounds out the top five, just one shot ahead of the Beavers.

First-year Chris Bornhorst (West Newton, Mass.) shot a 5-over par 76 and is tied for 12th place after day one, one shot ahead of classmate David Choi (Dallas, Texas), who is tied for 18th after carding a 77. Sophomore Kyle Alexander (Brewer, Maine) shot a 7-over par 78 and is tied for 24th position, classmate Ian Notkin (Caldwell, N.J.) posted a 79 and sophomore Lukas Linemayr (Hampton, N.H.) finished with an 80 for the Green and White.

Babson will begin final round play on Sunday at 9 a.m.

•    The Beavers are making their first appearance at the Williams Invitational since 2013.
•    Choi made 13 pars on Saturday, good for third in the 90-player field, while Bornhorst and Alexander both finished with 11 pars in the opening round.
•    Babson owns six top-five finishes all-time at Williams and finished third at the event in 2012.
