WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.—Sophomore Martin Jensen (Bronxville, N.Y.) shot an even-par 71 and the Babson College men's golf team posted a team score of 299 to finish fourth at the Williams College Invitational on Sunday at the Taconic Golf Club.
Trinity finished with the low round of the day (290) and its 36-hole total of 584 was five shots clear of second-place Williams. Western New England recorded a team score of 601 to finish third, while the Beavers were one shot better than fifth-place Middlebury.
First-year Lane Bohman (Chatham, Mass.) carded a 2-over par 73 in Sunday's final round to finish 12th overall with a two-day total of 8-over 150. Jensen, who rebounded from an 82 on Saturday, and sophomore Chris Bornhorst (West Newton, Mass.), who fired rounds of 73-80, both tied for 20th at 11-over 153.
First-year Reed Wilson (Redlands, Calif.) posted a 4-over 75 on Sunday to tie for 30th position at 14-over 156. Junior Riley Whitham (Harvard, Mass.) shot a final round 82 and finished with a 36-hole total of 162.
Babson returns to action next Saturday with the first round of the NECC Championship at Wachusett Country Club in West Boylston, Mass. The Beavers have won three consecutive league titles.
• Bohman's 36-hole total of 150 is the lowest by a Babson player since Joe Young '12 tied for sixth at 6-over 148 in 2011.
• Jensen's round of 71 was the lowest since Fernando Pineres '10 shot a 4-under 67 in the final round of the 2009 Williams Invitational.
• Babson's team score of 299 was its best at Taconic GC since the 2009 squad posted a total of 286 in the final round of the 2009 event.
• Bohman's stroke average in four completive rounds this fall is 72.5.
