ATTLEBORO, Mass.—After capturing the program's fourth straight conference title at Wachusett Country Club on Sunday, Babson College sophomore Chris Bornhorst (West Newton, Mass.) and first-year Reed Wilson (Redlands, Calif.) swept the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) weekly awards on Monday.
Bornhorst was tabbed as the NECC Golfer of the Week after finishing first at the conference championship with a 36-hole total of 1-under par 143. He opened with a 3-under round of 69 on Saturday and followed it up with a 2-over 74 on Sunday to win by four shots over Wilson on his way to being named NECC Player of the Year for the second time.
Wilson shot a 2-under par 70 on Saturday and closed with a round of 77 to post a two-day total of 3-over 147. He became the Beavers' fourth straight NECC Rookie of the Year by finishing three shots clear of Springfield's Jason Raichle.
The Green and White returns to action on Sunday when it travels to Hickory Ridge Golf Club in Amherst for the first round of the Blazer Invitational.
