NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.—First-year Lane Bohman (Chatham, Mass.) closed with a 4-over par round of 76 to help the Babson College men's golf team finish second in the UMass Dartmouth Hampton Inn Invitational at Allendale Country Club on Saturday afternoon.
Starting the day just three shots behind Trinity, which was first in Thursday's initial NCAA northeast regional rankings, the Beavers posted a team score of 318 in the final round to finish 14 shots behind the Bantams with a two-day total of 620. Rhode Island College came in third at 621, while Middlebury and Husson tied for fourth at 623.
Bohman tied for 12th overall with a 36-hole total of 11-over par 155. Sophomore Chris Bornhorst (West Newton, Mass.) struggled to an 82 on Saturday and finished in a tie for 19th position along with first-year Reed Wilson (Redlands, Calif.), who carded rounds of 75-81, at 12-over 156.
Senior Pranav Mohan (Fremont, Calif.) followed up Friday's 74 with a final round 84 to tie for 29th at 14-over 158, while junior Riley Whitham (Harvard, Mass.) finished at 16-over 160 after shooting a 79 on Saturday.
Babson returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Newport National Golf Club for the 36-hole Bentley Classic.
