Men's Ice Hockey Picked Fourth in NEHC Preseason Poll

MARSHFIELD, Mass.—The Babson College men's ice hockey team was picked to finish fourth when the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) released its preseason coaches' poll on Thursday morning.

Defending Division III national champions Norwich University collected six of eight first-place votes to finish atop the poll with 58 points. League newcomer Hobart College was second with 49 points, while New England College garnered a pair of first-place votes to come in third with 45 points. The Beavers were fourth with 42 points and UMass Boston came in fifth with 37.

The Green and White returns 20 players, which includes 11 seniors and its top two scorers, from a team that went 15-9-3 overall and 11-5-2 in NEHC play last winter. Babson advanced to the conference tournament semifinals for the 13th time in 15 seasons before suffering an overtime loss to New England College.

The Beavers open their 2017-18 campaign against Salem State University on October 28 at 3:45 p.m. in Falmouth.
