BABSON PARK, Mass.—Babson College head men's ice hockey coach Jamie Rice '90 announced his program's 2018-19 schedule on Wednesday afternoon. The slate includes 18 games against opponents from the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC), which now includes 10 teams after adding Johnson & Wales University and Suffolk University.
After opening the season at Saint Anselm on October 27, the Beavers will play nine of their 11 November games inside the Babson Skating Center. The Green and White hosts New England College and Southern Maine over the weekend of November 2-3, which is followed by home games against Castleton and Norwich on November 9-10.
The Green and White travels to league newcomers Suffolk and Johnson & Wales on November 16-17 before stepping out of conference to take Tufts (November 20), Williams (November 24) and Amherst (November 25) at home. Babson wraps up the first half of the season by hosting Skidmore on November 30 and Hobart on December 1.
The Beavers return from the holiday break with seven consecutive road games, beginning with tilts at the Milwaukee School of Engineering and Lake Forest on December 29-30. Babson travels to Curry on January 5 before starting the second half of NEHC play at Southern Maine and New England College on January 11-12.
The Green and White closes out the road trip at Norwich and Castleton on January 18-19, and returns to the Babson Skating Center to take on Johnson & Wales and Suffolk on January 25-26. The Beavers visit Hobart and Skidmore on February 1-2 before closing the regular season with a home-and-home series against UMass Boston on February 9-10.
The NEHC Tournament begins with quarterfinal action on February 16. The league semifinals will be played on February 23 with the championship game set for March 2.
