MARSHFIELD, Mass.—A pair of Babson College men's ice hockey players were recognized by the league on Monday, highlighted by senior Bryan Botcher's (Mequon, Wis.) selection as the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Goaltender of the Week.
In addition to Botcher's accolade, sophomore Nick Rosa (Birmingham, Mich.) was named to the NEHC Weekly Honor Roll.
Botcher stopped a season-high 33 of 34 shots to help the Beavers, ranked 15th by the USCHO and 14th by D3hockey.com, defeated Suffolk University 2-1 on Friday night. He turned away 13 shots in the third period and stopped the final 21 shots he faced as the Green and White scored twice in the third period to erase a 1-0 deficit.
Botcher, who is 2-0-1 in three starts on the year, ranks sixth in Division III with a .954 save percentage and is ninth nationally with a 1.30 goals against average.
Babson (6-0-1, 5-0-1 NEHC) steps out of conference to face a trio of NESCAC opponents at home this week, beginning with Tuesday's 7 p.m. tilt against Tufts.
