MARSHFIELD, Mass.—Babson College junior Brad Arvanitis (Holliston, Mass.) was selected as the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Goaltender of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Arvanitis made a career-high 47 saves and recorded his third shutout of the season to help the Beavers earn a 0-0 overtime tie at then-sixth-ranked Hobart on Friday night. He stopped 18 shots in the first period and 17 more in the second to stay unbeaten over his last four starts while earning his second conference honor of the season.
Arvanitis, who has made six starts on the year, is 3-2-1 and ranks first in Division III in save percentage (.963), second in goals against average (1.16) and tied for third in the country with three shutouts. In four starts since November 30, he boasts a 0.24 goals against average to go along with a .993 save percentage.
In addition to the goaltender of the week award for Arvanitis, sophomore forward Ryan Black (Pomfret, Conn.) was named to the NEHC Honor Roll. He scored early in the first period and later tacked on a pair of assists in the Beavers' 4-1 victory at Skidmore on Saturday.
Babson (10-3-2, 5-2-1 NEHC), which is unbeaten over its last 10 games, begins a home-and-home series against UMass Boston on the road on Friday at 7 p.m.
