Union Downs Men's Lacrosse, 14-2
SCHENECTADY, NY - Behind a game-high four goals by junior Andrew Higgins (Wrentham, MA) the Union College men's lacrosse team cruised to a 14-2 season-opening victory against Babson on Saturday at Frank Bailey Field. In all, the Dutchmen received goals from 10 different players to go to 1-0-0. Babson moves to 0-3-0.
Sophomore Brendan Kinnane (Little Compton, RI) also registered four points with a goal and three assists, while junior Christopher Jacobson (Northborough, MA) registered three points, including two goals. Junior Scott Garibaldi (Summit, NJ) and freshman Ethan Meyer (Brewster, NY) also produced three points. Garibaldi notched three assists, while Meyer had a goal and two assists.
Senior Christopher Keinath (Wilbraham, MA), who earned the win with six saves, shared time in goal with freshmen Sean Aaron (Great Falls, VA) (five saves) and Jon Goldberg (Bethesda, MD) (one save).
Babson senior E.J. Peterson (Framingham, MA) scored both goals for the Beavers - his team-leading seventh and eighth of the season. Sophomore Mike Saucier (Nashua, NH) and senior Max Owen (Hamilton, NJ) split time in goal, with Saucier making six stops and Owen registering seven.
