Pilgrim League Announces Postseason Honors


BABSON PARK, Mass. -- The Pilgrim League recently announced its men's lacrosse postseason awards, and five Babson College athletes received honors. Senior E.J. Peterson (Framingham, Mass.) was named All-Conference First Team, while senior Matt Enright (Bristol, R.I.) and junior captain Max Artz (Gates Mills, Ohio) were selected to the All-Pilgrim League Second Team. Peterson and Enright also joined senior captain Max Owen (Hamilton, N.J.) and first-year Cam Caruso (St. Charles, Ill.) on the Academic All-Conference Team.

Peterson earned All-Conference honors for the first time in his career after leading the Beavers and ranking second in the league with 41 goals. He also ranked second on the team with 10 assists, giving him 51 total points for the season. He also paced the squad with nine man-up scores and two game-winning goals while collecting 35 groundballs. In 50 career games, Peterson amassed 93 goals and 19 assists for 112 points to go along with 83 groundballs.

Enright and Artz both received All-League Second Team recognition for the first time in their respective careers. Enright ranked second on the team in scoring with 13 goals and nine assists for 22 points in his senior season. He also picked up 25 groundballs this spring, giving him 38 goals, 19 assists, 57 points, and 86 groundballs in 54 career games. Artz was a key member of the Beavers' defensive unit, ranking fourth on the team with 43 groundballs. He heads into his senior campaign with one goal and 79 groundballs in 16 career contests.

Owen and Caruso each joined Peterson and Enright on the Pilgrim League Academic All-Conference Team. Owen played in all 16 of Babson's game in net, totaling four wins, 472 minutes, 101 saves, a 14.37 goals against average, and a .472 save percentage. In 53 career games, Owen posted 17 victories, a .540 save percentage, and a 10.65 GAA. Meanwhile, Caruso enjoyed a fantastic freshman campaign, leading the team with 67 groundballs and 95 faceoff wins to go with five goals and one assist for six points.
