O'Donoghue Named NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Week

BOSTON—Babson College junior Jack O'Donoghue (Scituate, Mass.) was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.

O'Donoghue scooped up a game-high seven ground balls and caused two turnovers in the Beavers' 17-6 victory over Trinity last Tuesday. The Green and White, which defeated the Bantams for the first time since 1981, led 8-0 at halftime and allowed just two goals over the first three quarters.

O'Donoghue leads the team and ranks second in the conference in caused turnovers (15) and is third in the league with 41 ground balls over the first seven games of the season.

Babson (4-3) opens NEWMAC play with a key test at defending champions Springfield on Monday at 4 p.m.
